Priya Sharma, 16. Science Olympiad astronomy captain, telescope builder, NASA camp alum. I've logged 200+ observation hours and named exactly zero stars (but I have favorites).
Data, glass, and a lot of cold nights in the backyard.
Ground + polished nothing (bought the mirror, built the mount). First light: Saturn's rings. Screamed so loud the neighbors came out.
Orion, Andromeda, the Moon in ridiculous detail. Stacked 300 frames for one nebula shot. Patience: astronomical.
Selected for the state program. Designed a Mars-hab module with 5 teammates. Mentored by actual engineers!!
Regionals champs, state 4th. I can ID 40 deep-sky objects and calculate a redshift before breakfast.
Co-founder. 12 launches, 2 lost to trees, 1 egg survived (legend). Level 1 cert in progress.
Monthly sidewalk astronomy: 200+ neighbors have now seen Saturn. Gasps guaranteed.
under dark skies β logged, sketched, and catalogued in my observation journal.
identified by memory β Messier marathon finisher, 3AM division.
"We are all made of star-stuff. I just want to read the recipe."
β after Carl Sagan, patron saint of this portfolio Β· Next: physics + astrophysics track, summer research apps, and (dreaming big) the stars themselves.
